We are working on the second annual post Kirkin' of the Tartan pub crawl on the Sunday following the Scottish games. This year we are doing it as a fund raiser for a new playground for Islands Elementary School. We stopped by last year for the first and very impromtu pub crawl. Would you be interested in participating this year? You can visit the web site at http://savannahscottishgames.webs.com to see pictures from last year. My contact information is cason6pack@aol.com
Thank you,
Sandra

Writing in From Chicago...I am coming down to visit my brother who has adopted Savannah as his hometown and refuses to come back...from what I've learned I can't blame him...however, I am wondering if Churchill's shows the English soccer on the weekends and if not, if they might consider doing so...in either eventuality, can't wait to come see your beautiful city, and pop in for a pint or two. or three. cheers!

Hello! I am moving to Savannah from Lincoln, Nebraska in January 2008 to begin Physician Assistant School at South Univeristy. I had to get on Fox Soccer Channel's website and find out where I'll be watching football in my new home and it looks like YOU ARE THE PLACE TO BE! I can't wait. See you soon.

I just moved here from Atlanta at the end of the Champion's League finals. I was spoiled, given a place I could see games at 7:00 am eastern time. I saw your bar listed on the soccer bars website. I also noticed the founder was a Man. U. fan. I am curious as to whether or not you could find it in your heart to open up early on the weekends and serve breakfast while airing games this up and coming Premiership season. I would be willing to give my wife up to work part time as a server or bartender on these days. I am sure it would be worth it.

Loved the band last weekend. Some guy gave us a flyer on the street so we thought we'd try it. The same guy greated us at the door made sure we got a drink (it was busy)and even introduced us to a few people. One problem, I couldn't get my wife to leave!

Disappointed to see you've taken the Seafood Shepperds Pie off of the menu. It was an absolutely fantastic dish. We had it for the first time when in Savannah a few years ago. Unfortunately, last time we were there you were closed for renovations and will be back in town this week-end and was looking forward to it. Oh well, hopefully you'll bring it back sometime.

Considering a day trip down there again from our home in Myrtle Beach, and am looking for places to eat, and smoke some nice cigars. I was wondering if your establishment had room for a group of cigar herfers, about 10 or so, to have a bite, and a nice cuban, presumably, the Churchill size.

In response to Kevin's comment on Duvel and Ommegang beers:
You are half correct about the &gaffe& on the beer list regarding the Duvel and Ommegang beers. It is true that Hennepin and Three Philosophers are brewed by Ommegang, but Duvel owns Ommegang. So, technically they are Duvel beers. I do agree that you are right in that it is more correct to say that Hennepin and Three Philosophers are Ommegang beers, but I think it is 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
Here is the wiki on Duvel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duvel
Hope that helps.

Saw your beer list. Looked good until I got to two beers (ignoring the bud). One you called Duvel Three Philosophers Ale (25.4oz) and one you called Duvel Hennepin Saison Farmhouse Ale. You had both of these listed as imports. Duvel brews 1 beer. Ommegang (a brewer from New York, USA) brews Three Philosophers and Hennepin. Surely someone else has called you on this gaffe.

Hey guys! Nice site. Since you don't open until 5PM on most days & 12PM on Saturdays, why not post the matches you'll have on the telly, to your website? I have football friends in Savannah who want to become Churchill regulars. Since they have classes to attend, it would help them find you when they have a couple of hours to spare (ha!) Thanks!

Don't DO that!! I thought you all were GONE! Used to live down there, returned for St Pat's in 04 and , naturally, went to Churchill's for my first meal. As I arrived at the place I left you, an OUTBACK now (I think) , I was sure my mind was playing tricks on me. But, alas, it wasn't and I headed off, rejected and hungry. Can't wait to come down again, now that I know where you are!!! YAY!!!
PS-- WHAT!?!?! NO TOAD IN THE HOLE!?!?!? Any way I could talk you all into it for old times sake? (You're the only place I've ever seen or had it and it's the whole reason I come! Well, that and beer...)

We were in the Pub on Saturday night after a full day of Savannah. The River and Bay Street experience was great. The crowning to the perfect day was having dinner at Churchill's. We enjoyed it very much and will tell all our friends. We are already planning our vacation in June to come back! Thanks for hospitality!

We went back to the Pub for the first time since it re-opened.
Very impressed with the new digs... the food was killer (wife says Yorkshire Pudding was the best she's had).
The service is very much improved.
We're glad it's back, we'll be back. Just hope the Scottish Piper will return on weekend nights as we do prefer to think of it as a Scottish Pub!

I had only been in Churchills a handful of times before it was destroyed. It only took two times for the bartender to have my drink ready before even sitting down at the bar though. His name I think was Kurt or Kirk, can't remember exactly, sorry! But,I was away on a trip when Churchill's was destroyed. I got off the airplane and headed straight to the pub only to find it had burned. A few months later I moved from Savannah before the rebuild. For St. Pat's 2005 I will be in for a visit. Can't wait to see the new digs!

Andy, check out the message below, mums not only mastered predictive text but she has worked out how to use your message board. I don't think the USA has managed to wake up to text messaging yet, maybe mum can run training courses at the pub in return for free beer? Like a dates night only different, what you you think?

the new location looks great. glad to see u will be up and running soon. also glad to see the bay st bldg is being rehabbed and will be looking better than it has in some time. was a little concerned for a while that there may not be a churchill's 'second coming'. but looks like it will be bigger and better than ever. good luck with the new location. have missed having lunch there as well as many happy hour gatherings. i am keeping a friend, who now lives in germany, updated as to your progress. now that i know u have a website, he can look for himself. keep up the fantastic work!

Hi from Jersey, Channel Islands - We think your new pub is going to be just fantastic, the grub sounds great (a really imaginative menu but not getting away from traditional dishes)- we can imagine ourselves looking up at the stars or sunning ourselves in the roof garden (By the way, can you see 'Hartshead Pike' from there?) - not to mention the games room .. make sure you have table football. WELL DONE ANDREW, TRACY, PETER AND BRENDA .... LOVE YOU LOADS !!! Jen, Pete Callum & Paul

While we have visited Hilton Head Island for the last 14 years and plan to make it our permanent home in the next year or two, we have always visited your Pub each and every year and considered it a highlight of our visit. However, we were very disappointed last year of your closing due to your fire and we hope to see it open again when returning sometime in September of 2004.
Sincerely, Kessler2007@comcast.net
